Privacy policy
Last updated 20 September 2026
EightyTwenty runs ten cafés across Canberra. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you order, book a table, request catering or contact us, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, phone number, email address, the items you ordered, any notes or dietary requests, and the café you chose.
- Delivery details: your delivery address, where you've asked for delivery.
- Booking and catering details: your name, contact details, party size, date and time, and anything you tell us about the occasion.
- Account details: if you create an account, the name, email and phone number you save with us, plus your order and booking history.
- Website information: basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies. See our cookie policy.
We do not collect or store your full card number. Card payments are processed by our payment provider, and we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
Why we collect it
We use your information to prepare and deliver your order, confirm and manage bookings, quote and run catering, respond to enquiries and complaints, keep our accounts, and meet food safety and tax obligations.
We only send marketing email if you have asked for it, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. Opting out of marketing does not affect order or booking confirmations, which we have to send you.
Who we share it with
We share what is needed with the services that help us operate: our online ordering platform, our payment provider, delivery partners when you order delivery, and the providers that host this site and send our email. Each is bound to use your information only to provide that service.
We never sell your personal information. We disclose it otherwise only where the law requires it.
How we store it
Your information is held on secure services with access limited to staff who need it. We keep order, booking and catering records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected and to meet our legal and tax obligations, then delete or de-identify them.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Email info@eightytwentyfood.com.au and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy matter, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
